Kids will mostly learn to throw on the wheel, with various hand building projects available intermittently. Two classes required per project for construction, bisque firing, and glazing. Pieces available approximately two weeks after glazing, depends on firing schedule. Minimum 4 to hold class, meets most Tuesdays.
If a student attends a wheel and a glaze session, they are allowed to continue independent wheel throwing during hand-building classes.
Upcoming if minimum enrollment:
- Sept 1 – wheel
- Sept 8 – handbuilding or independent wheel
- Sept 15 – wheel
- Sept 22 – required glazing
- Sept 29 – wheel
Is your child younger than 8 or smaller for their age? Kids need at least a 9 inch arm length from elbow to center of palm to reach on the wheel, and a fair amount of hand and deltoid strength. (Strength can be built up over time using the wheel, though)
